Lionmede Bowls Club Rules and Formats for Cup and League games
The greens are open for play from:
2pm to dusk Monday to Friday
10am to dusk Saturday and Sunday
SINGLES
Ladies and Gents Club Championship Cups: First to 21 points 4 woods each player.
Handicap Singles Cup: First to 21 points 4 woods each player.
Handicap Starting Point: The higher handicapped player will receive the shot difference of the two handicaps.
Two Wood Singles Cup: 21 Ends. 2 woods each player.
Junior cup: First to 21 points 4 Woods each player.
Open to all members who have NOT previously won a Lionmede Singles Championship, Junior Cup, or the Two Wood’s Competition. Winning the Club Handicap Competition is no bar to entering the Junior Cup competition.
Senior Cup: First to 21 points 4 Woods each player.
Open to all members who are aged 60 or over on the 1st May in the current season.
PAIRS
Ladies Pairs and Gents Pairs: 21 ends 4 woods each player.
Club Pairs (mixed): 21 ends 2 woods each player.
TRIPLES
Friday Night Triples: 18 ends 3 woods each player.
Presidents Trophy: 18 ends 3 woods each player.
Chelmer Ladies League: 18 ends 3 woods each player
Start time varies
Friendlies: (mixed): 18 ends 3 woods each player.
Other formats can apply depending on availability of players.
FOURS
C and D League games: Four in Gents Team: 21 ends 2 woods each player.
Start time 6pm in May and August
Start time 6.30pm in June and July
CMBL. League games: Four in mixed Team: 21 ends 2 woods each player.
18 ends in May and August
Start time 6.15
In the event of a tie in a cup competition an extra end is played.
Singles games require a marker; pairs, triples and four woods do not.
In the event of bad weather, a minimum of 2/3rds of the ends need to be played, or the match to be re-arranged.
